Very fine antique Art Nouveau bronze sculpture "Phalene" by well listed French artist Lucien Charles Edouard Alliot (1877-1967 ).
Lucien Charles Edouard Alliot was French sculptor born on November 16, 1877 in Paris and son of sculptor Napoleon Alliot. He studied with Louis Ernest Barrias and Jules Felix Coutan and became well known in the art world after receiving third place prize at the 1907 Salon de Paris. He exhibited at the Salon frequently and in 1920 he was awarded first prize. Well traveled and cultured as he was, he became a member of the Salon jury from 1934 until 1939.
