Koto tanto, ca. 1400S, with hira-zukuri construction. The 12 and 1/2 inch blade shows a combination of itame and straighter masame hada. The hamon is a Bizen style gunome midare with activities. The tang is mumei unsigned and shortened with multiple pegholes. The blade shows a great age, evidenced by some loose grain, the blade stored in wooden shirasaya. With NBTHK Hozon certificate attributing the sword to Kozori school, ca. 1400?s.
