Rare 16th-17th C. Dutch Rapier Sword with Chiseled Steel Mounts. An absolutely fascinating and unique early Transitional example, having chiseled steel hilt mounts with warriors and battle scenes to the kidney shaped guard, fine steel wire grip topped with a chiseled steel head pommel. Mounted with a sturdy single edged blade of unique configuration, being triangular in section with an extra thick spine decorated with engraved and etched motives.Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 39 1/2" Blade Length : 32".
