Very Large & Impressive European Swept-Hilt Rapier Broad Sword of the Late 16th to 17th Century Style. With its elaborate complex hilt and fine iron wire braided grip having brass Turk-head bands. Blade of very substantial thickness and strength. An impressive later example of the sword favored by French Spanish and Italian warriors during the late 16th through the 17th and early 18th centuries.Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 47 1/2" Blade Length : 41 1/2".
