A very fine example dating from the French Napoleonic wars era, in its exceptional quality fire-gilt brass mounts with a maker’s logo "Prosser London" and date 1813 engraved on one side of the scabbard’s throat. Ottoman style grips of noble material. Mounted with a 17th century multi-fullered blade of possibly Venetian manufacture, bearing two rows of markings to each side of ricasso. Gorgeous weapon for a High Ranking officer of Royal British Army. Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 32" Blade Length : 25 1/2"
