Rare 17th C. Islamic Ottoman Turkish HANCER Dagger ~ Armor-Piercing WOOTZ Blade. Of characteristic form with its one piece horn grip carved in traditional manner. Very thick armor-piercing blade having central reinforcement ridge and showing active watered patterns of fine Wootz steel. A rare early example with most efficient thrusting power for penetrating through armor if struck by a skilled hand. Total length (inside scabbard if present) : 12 1/2" Blade length : 7"
