Very Rare 19th C. Russian Caucasian BEBUT Dagger with Gold Inlaid Blade. A seldom encountered example of curved form, wearing a broad double edged blade with one off-set fuller to each side, front of the blade bearing a heavy inlaid gold inscription in either Cyrillic or Georgian letters with floral scrolled borders. Grips of dyed green bone with iron rivet caps, the leather bound wood scabbard having lovely Niello silver mounts with a large ruby stone set in the middle. A very unusual and possibly important dagger of a wealthy Caucasian warrior.Dagger is 15", blade 10 1/2".
