Shinshinto katana, 24.5 inch length of cutting edge, signed Shinkei Tanemitsu, dated Keio 2 (1867), a very wide healthy and large sword with O-Kissaki big point and high quality gunome midare hamon; Tanemitsu was a top student of famous Taikei Naotane; the blade is in ornate samurai style mounts.
